This piece is actually a music box, the song that it plays is edelweiss that is played prominently in the movie Sound of Music. This piece is of importance to me because of the fact that when I was little I would collect music boxes and have always felt a sense of whimsy about them. And the song that I chose is because when I was growing up I absolutely loved musicals and the movies were a time of bonding for my family. This is successful because the fine details that tie into the music box piece help convey the type of music that comes from the piece and the feeling that this is meant to evoke al well as the colors that convey a dreamy felling with the silvers and teals.
